Oh, I Saw Something!
Something I had not being seeing
Something I had refused to see
Was I blind before?
Or had something happened to my foresight?
I had refused to see something that was vital
I had chosen to focus on what I wanted to see
And that was what I was seeing
My eyes were wide open yet I could see nothing
I was happy seeing what I was seeing
Until I realized that I had a problem with my sight
Not my physical eyes
But the ability to see deep inside a person (thing)
But when I began to see,
My thoughts and mindset changed
I knew what I really wanted and wanted not
I began to see my inadequacy
Which no one else had seen
It took SOMETHING to make me see
But I’m glad I saw something I didn’t see
‘Cos it changed me for the better.
This Is Your Choice
Oladele Bolatito - Nigeria
Why did he bring us here? After promising us heaven and earth…..we shouldn’t have listened to him.’ Those were the complaints of my classmates after we arrived in the hotel where we had the intention of lodging for two days during a tour. They were complaining because they were grossly disappointed by the state of the facilities on ground at the hotel. I was quite sure that some of these people had never lodged in a hotel before but yet they had expectations. ‘Expectations’ which I think they derived by watching some adverts which had given them an idea of what a hotel should be like. Now, I couldn’t help but watch and listen to their agitations.
A certain set of people in my class had been chosen to handle the planning towards this tour. So with the feedbacks they were giving us from time-to-time, we all had our hopes raised so high. Only to get there and have all our hopes shattered like a glass. One other reason why I think our high expectations were raised, was that our lecturer had given us some series of lectures on the course which was on Tourism and Recreation Planning. We had being taught on what had to be in place for one to participate in tourism, so we thought we knew all we needed to know.
I think at this point, I would like to ask a question- ‘on what basis are your expectations about people, places, situations, events, etc’? Are they just based on some other person’s view which you learnt about or even on your own view which you had ‘selfishly’ coined without thinking beyond. Someone once said that- ‘A man is limited by what he knows’. In my own view, I think that my classmates could have just looked out for that aspect of the place where we were that could have been made use of to their benefit. Instead, almost everyone was feeling bad and refused to enjoy the moment while it lasted.
Due to the fact that I loved listening to the news (current happenings around the world), I chose to sit back in my room (which my other two roommates had deserted because they were ‘bored’) and watch the CNN. I made a choice of not allowing the situation around me to determine how I feel. How I wish that others could just make the most of such advantages around them instead of whining about what is/is not happening, what someone a has done or is not doing this. I believe we all have a choice in how we feel; you can choose either to feel either good or bad regardless of what is and what is not. It all depends on you. The choice is yours……………….
Speaking With Brtish Entrepreneur, Film Producer & Author Matthew C Martino
I’ve been speaking with Mathetes Chiwai,
better known by his stage name Matthew c Martino, a film producer,
author and retired actor;
Wikipedia Profile http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_C_Martino
As a film producer, author,
entrepreneur and a person with a very strong passion for aviation, you
seem to be an individual of many talents, now the question is how do you
manage all of that?
Yes I do
have expressed interests in various trades and I guess there isn’t a
real answer as to how I manage all of them, 2 things that I have found
that help is prioritising, sometimes I have a few things that all seem
to need to be done urgently and I have to choose which one is more
important. The second being that I have a strong team behind me who
support me and ensure everything runs smoothly.
From your various profiles,
moreso on Wikipedia, I understand you’ve written some books such as Lets
Fly, Go for it/Be your own boss, how did you get into writing?
I first
started writing back in 2011 as I used to have trouble sleeping, so
writing in a notebook became a hobby and with Lets Fly I started it off
by writing down flying tips and stuff my flight instructor used to tell
me, so when I began writing I then formatted this information into a
book.
Now, when we talk about the film
industry, an industry which has made you what you are, is there one or
more thing you think would make the film industry better and what would
it be?
Indeed I
am grateful to the film industry, I think the biggest issue the industry
faces is lack of funding to assist startups in the industry, once
you’re established in the film industry you have investors and
distributors lining up to assist your production however a film student
will struggle to make their mark.
In your experience, what would be the most important advice you could give a filmmaker starting out?
My biggest
piece of advise will be learn, learn and learn! You can never know
enough in the film industry so its important for someone who is starting
out to learn all they need to know about their desired path in the
industry.
It’s amazing how our successes
can get us noticed having perfected them from our failures. What failing
experiences have you been able to learn from and did they make you want
to do it right at another chance?
Yes there
has been quite a few, I think one of my first business ventures F5 Air
which was a private charter firm which I think I went into without
enough research and preparation and hence the businesses failed and if I
could go back there are so many things I could have done differently
with regards to running that business.
Celebrity Chat With Emerson Reyes – Founder Asonga Radio Television
”Chat has been translated to English, Chat originally in Spanish, Spanish Translations included; Resource: SDL ; Equatorial Guinea Press”
Emerson,
You and I are both in the Television & Radio business so ‘m going to
be delving into the cores. As the Founder of & Producer Asonga TV
and Asonga Radio, creative and founder of the program “DJS LIFE” for
television and the production company XL TV AND ENTERTAIMENT, the
producer is in charge of both the creative direction as well as the
business aspects. In television, the producer’s role varies depending on
the format of the television production. Producers of sitcoms and
dramatic series are frequently the writers/creators. Producers for news
programming tend to have journalism backgrounds. Talk shows and game
shows also have their own unique hierarchy.
My First Question, As the founder, what’s the history of Asonga TV and Asonga Radio?
Asonga for
me is a reality that I played live and of which I am very proud, create
the know-how of a medium of communication in a country is a big thing
now that I have been a part in one way or another of the social and
cultural growth of Equatorial Guinea, Thank
you very much for the confidence placed in me by The President and the
administration of ASONGA RTV, it seems to me a very noble project that
his only concern has been that the youth of the country who devotes his
time to study this profession, I can count with two means of
communication to the height of the other countries, in addition
apostadondo much for aesthetic reasons, a journalistic line neutral,
programs International programs and events with national talent.
and that leads me to – How did you choose to be a producer ?
15 Years
ago when I arrived in Spain as an immigrant from my country Colombia, I
felt that toward lack a means of communication for the entire Latino
community, a radio with good music, advice from lawyers in the field of
immigration, local sporting events, festivals and of course the support
to all Latino entrepreneurs that were investing money in the country and
is where, in partnership with a Spanish businessman rode FIESTA FM
MADRID.
After this adventure takes us to bring the international television in several countries of south america, this brings us to fit a tv producer and dedicate ourselves to creating content of value and submission in several channels in Spain.
I have become a producer of radio and television first for the love of the profession and second by the need to communicate and create content of much value to an audience who needed a means of communication that create sense of belonging and closeness with the countries of origin of all immigrants.

Hace

Asonga TV
Radio is now one of the biggest radio stations in Africa broadcasting
from Equatorial Guinea to most parts of the world, It has become so
huge, how did you go about achieving the success?
As a celebrity Journalist, News anchor and Actress, I’ve
worked with other famous actors & celebrities, I’ve interviewed
Football Stars, State Governors, Business Tycoons, Executives, Authors,
Singers & Writers around the globe which will be the case for you,
Who’s the most interesting or famous person you ever interviewed?
I have
interviewed artists such as Shakira, Juanes, Eros Ramazzotti, Nek, Ricky
Martin, hahahahaha many singers, actors and Djs, i’ve already lost the
account, but the most important characters with whom I have shared a cab
radio have been 3 girls of 9 years and 1 child of 10 years with the
that toward a radio program which was called the CLUB, and you can’t
imagine the things that you can ask and the answers that can reach to
give children, has been perhaps the most attractive experience of my
entire career.
He
entrevistado a artistas como Shakira, Juanes, Eros ramazzotti, Nek,
Ricky Martin, jajajajaja muchos cantantes, actores y Djs, ya he perdido
For
someone who is brand new to Television and Radio production or
documentary filmmaking, as a Top Producer, what would you say is the
number one, TOP thing they need to learn?
It must be
clear what they really want to make in the media and have patience, at
the beginning not everything goes as one wants.
It is very important to be well prepared in all areas of production as this allows you to define concepts and not to lose the final goal.

Interview With Shaunte McFarland, Child Advocate & Author
Hello Dr. Shaunte McFarland, Some Wonderful woman I have out here, :p I Know you or let’s say I know what I know, now let’s be fair to others, let’s meet Dr. Shaunte? Tell us about you…
Hi
everyone. Well, I’m the realest, tell-like-it-is, without being hurtful,
friend that you’ve ever met. I’m a small town, country, woman that’s
managed to keep it simple in a complicated world. I’m also a teacher,
child advocate and women’s minister.
Oh
My! I went through some of your memoirs and they were so fantabulous,
”Cinderella Still Going To The Ball” and of course ” Seven Days of
Redemption” and then this statement struck chords. I thought wow..
”This
exclusive glimpse is implicitly triggering for survivors of physical,
emotional, and/or sexual abuse. This inspirational memoir takes a
quantum leap into uncharted territory. It incorporates a pleasant
contrast as a story of strength, forgiveness and grace. Its tenacity
will endow you with the strength to forgive, accept and ultimately leave
you bolstered with the profound hope in the redemptive power of
Christ.”
What
are the concepts into these beautiful pieces of writing, they seem to
encompass so much of your experiences which you have really turned into
that wonderful piece of shiny diamond and it’s so amazing, I see CHRIST
playing the major role as it all unfolds, I like to know more...
Yes, I
was looted at the age of four. Polluted at the age of 13 and diluted at
the age of 23. I went through my life not just accepting the horrible
things that happened to me but accepting the idea that I deserved to be
raped and beaten; that I was worthless. I fought back through
accomplishments, thinking that if I earned enough awards and
acknowledgements I could prove my assailants wrong. I was still empty on
the inside, the thoughts and memories left me void. CHRIST is the one
who saved me in my adulthood; He took me on a look back at my life so I
could see just why I needed salvation and how gracious and precious His
gift is. And now that void is filled. I’m worthy because He said I was
worth it.
I
also see that child advocate personality shown through your writings and
styles, how do you go about the empowerment factor and cultivation of
women and children?
I work
with children who have been victims of sex-trafficking, physical abuse
and have committed murder. I do not condemn or treat them any different
knowing their past. But I inspire and uplift them to heal from their
past and continue to live a full and accomplished life. I have
compassion for them because I know how it feels to be rejected, working
with me, they know that they are accepted and have hope of a bright
future. After all, I used to be them. I don’t share my entire story with
them but they know that I had it hard but I made it and they can too.
In 2012, I started the non-profit organization CJ’s Friends to provide
clothes and shoes to the children of homeless families. Currently, I am a
member of several organizations that support my passion like the
National Empowerment Program for Women and Children in Liberia and Court
Appointed Special Advocates or CASA here in Hawaii. I am also
collaborating with Ashley Williams, of iamnotmylaundry.com, to host an
annual women’s conference here in Hawaii. We are holding sessions on
financial literacy, spiritual health, and physical wellness.
I’d
really encourage women worldwide to follow your bog writings, Have you
got upcoming projects we should look forward to and what about any of
which you are currently dedicated to?
Yes I do.
I have a devotional, Seven Days of Redemption, that will be released on
Christmas Day. It will be gifted to all of my subscribers free of
charge on December 25th. It will really prepare and propel
women into their new season. I am anxiously awaiting the release of my
inspirational memoir, “Cinderella’s Still Going to the Ball”, women that
have got their hands on the preview copy have called and emailed me,
telling me how it changed their life, how they were bound by their
abusive past and have been set free. I was overwhelmed by the responses I
got. Women have witnessed to me in tears telling me about their story.
They were still so wounded but the power of God was helping them to
recognize it and finally heal. Some have agreed to share their story on
my site and I am looking forward to publishing their stories to
encourage even more women. They will get to see the Cinderella story
through so many lenses. Stories can be anonymous or not and sent to
drshaunte@shauntemcfarland.com.
I
have to do this and this is where experience takes the seat, this is
where knowledge takes the seat, and expertise takes his seat and then
CHRIST takes the MASTER SEAT, kindly fling out all the pieces of useful
advice I could get, mothers could get, fathers could get, children could
get, even youths, the world needs this..
When
Cinderella first met the prince, she was in a breathtaking ball gown,
her hair and makeup was perfect, she wore the most beautiful and
skillfully spun glass slippers. Basically, she was flawless. But when he
came to her house she had on tattered, dirty garments, a servant’s
apron, her face was smudged with cinders and she didn’t own any shoes.
The Prince saw the truth. He saw who she really was; a rejected,
neglected, needy nobody. And he walked over to her boldly, put the glass
slipper on her foot and gave her a place in his kingdom. That’s CHRIST
in our lives. We are all rejected, neglected, needy nobodies in need of a
Savior. And CHRIST seeing our past, flaws, hurts, and sins says, “Come,
I have prepared a place for you.”
The Battle So Far
Timothy Abegunde - Nigeria
This time, it wasn’t a dream non a trance;
I wasn’t feasting as I would have love to,
The arena for the battle was set in reality…
I found myself in the centre of life’s heavy weights
champions
As I wondered if the subtle clash was a vision or happening
in its authenticity,
I tried to walk out of the battle-ring to watch as a
spectator…
Though slowly but with maximum coercion, delay drew me back…
Responsibilities shook me and I staggered weakly,
Silently within, I planned to throw in the towel…
Rejection yet gave me a force-filled slap and
I collapsed…I wished all had been a joke.
But no…
I cried, shattering on the platform of challenges;
Desiring that family and friends should help my wrangle
See…I saw you wrestle too, I couldn’t call
Still in the battle arena of reality
I saw financial demands approaching me hurriedly
‘I’m a way too young for you.’ I wailed.
But no…
They trampled on me with huge booths of dogmatism
Altogether, the titans of reality crushed me
And I felt I would never make it
But no…
Hope…Hope…Hope cries within
‘Christ in me the Hope of glory’
I had not warred in the fight, for ignorance chained me.
I implore the defensive,
‘The name of the Lord is a strong tower,
The righteous run into it and were saved.’
And straightway, the stings of self-condemnation and defeat
dissolved
Then, I explore the offensive,
‘At the mention of the name of Jesus all knee should bow.’
I cried out the saving name and the oppositions begged out
And yes…
In the quest against the giants of reality,
I was gradually re-energized…through gratitude and
thanksgiving
But…
The battle continues…
What’s more…
The Lord of Host assured me of victory on His side.
