Oh, I Saw Something!

Something I had not being seeing
Something I had refused to see
Was I blind before?
Or had something happened to my foresight?
I had refused to see something that was vital
I had chosen to focus on what I wanted to see
And that was what I was seeing

My eyes were wide open yet I could see nothing
I was happy seeing what I was seeing
Until I realized that I had a problem with my sight
Not my physical eyes
But the ability to see deep inside a person (thing)

But when I began to see,
My thoughts and mindset changed
I knew what I really wanted and wanted not
I began to see my inadequacy
Which no one else had seen

It took SOMETHING to make me see
But I’m glad I saw something I didn’t see
‘Cos it changed me for the better.

The Gold Mines

Just because no one has been fortunate enough to realize what a gold mine you are,
doesn’t mean you shine any less.
Just because no one considers you as smart enough,
doesn’t stop you from being the best.

Just because no one has come along to share your life,

doesn’t mean that day isn’t coming.
Just because no one has made this race worth while,
doesn’t permit you to stop running.

Just because no one has realized how much of a woman you are,
doesn’t mean they can affect your femininity.
Just because no one has come to take the loneliness away,
doesn’t mean you have to settle for less.

Just because God is still preparing your king,
doesn’t mean that you’re not already a queen.
Just because God is still preparing your queen,
doesn’t mean you fro lick with sluts.

Just because you haven’t found the right person,
doesn’t mean you are a loser.
Just because life is not a bed of roses,
doesn’t mean life is not good.

Just because your situation doesn’t seem to be progressing right now,
doesn’t mean you are a failure.
Just because people are indifferent to you,
doesn’t mean Jesus can’t make the difference.

Just because you are addressed as ‘MISS’,
doesn’t mean something is missing.
Just because you got left behind,
doesn’t mean you can’t be the cornerstone.
Just because your dreams are yet to unfold into reality,
doesn’t mean they will never come true.

Just because you don’t have what you want now,
doesn’t mean you won’t get what you need.
Just because others are losing their head,
doesn’t mean you have to lose yours.

Just because fake and faded seems to be the order of the day,
doesn’t mean you have to stop been original.
Just because people are illogical and self-centred,
doesn’t mean you have to stop caring.

You Are The Unrequited Love

-You are
–You are the poem I never wrote
—You are the test I never took
—-You are the game I never played
—–You are the chance I never took
——You are the feeling I never felt
——-You are the joke I never got
——–You are the lie I never told
———You are the question I never asked
———-You are the dream I never had
———–You are the rose I never smelt

When Our Eyes Met

When our eyes met, the universe smiled at us
Even the heavens and stars could feel our love
The moon had never shown so bright
As you held me close and tight
My love for you grows more and more
With you, my happiness doth soar
I believe our love was meant to be
We wouldn’t have met Exactly the way we did
If our lives hadn’t touched when they did
I might have lived today loving one less person
Life was more beautiful with you as you
But it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be with you
Suddenly I knew you could not be trusted
And when I heard another man you befriended
The love in my heart for you ended”

He Made Me Their Everything

I could be nothing
Well, I could be anything
Perhaps, I could be something
Better still, I could be everything

Nothing could turn out to be something
I could be anything but nothing
Which sometimes don’t seem like  a big thing
Then, it turns out to be everything

Maybe I wish to be something
When I know ‘m nothing
But not my dream to be anything
For it then ends up as nothing

Even though He knew I’M NOTHING
He made me SOMETHING
But when they thought I was just ANYTHING
He made me their EVERYTHING

My Midnight Thoughts

We hold onto things the tightest,
when we are forced to let them go
We always want things a certain way,
when we know they can’t be so.
Dreams always last the longest,
when they are furthest from our reach
And the lessons we can learn the most from,
are often the ones we teach.
Look back at that thing you had,
look back for it was that thing you wanted
Look back for now it’s gone,
look back for now all is gone.
We leave the better for the best,
Thinking grass is always greenest on the other side
And the truths we preach to others,
are often those we cant abide.
I wronged you brother but
You wronged me too
Perhaps all you did me was ever right,
but there is also someone you wronged there.
We hold fast to things in a storm,
which are most likely to blow away
And yet we neglect to wear sunscreen,
on a bright and sunny day.
We spend our time trying to see things,
when perspective is one thing we lack
And we never appreciate what we’ve got,
Until we can’t get it back.
We expect the whole world to give us a break,
and yet ironically we find out
That when others come asking the same of us,
we tell them they’re out of their mind.
We tell everyone what’s wrong with this world,
and we do nothing to make it right
We complain about families falling apart,
and yet we do nothing to keep them tight.
We preach about loving our neighbours,
and we teach children right from wrong
But we never set good examples for them,
when real chances come along.
We complain about not having enough time in our lives,
to do what we must do
Yet if we were given more hours in the day,
we’d use up all that, too.
We desire to be close to all those we love,
yet all too often look on from afar
And when it comes to the truth do we want to change,
or remain forever as we are ?
You will remember us
For those who remember us will always do.
